Most of the tours we offer are non-technical, although they will still be physically demanding. Remember that you will be trekking for up to 8 hours a day at higher altitudes. Beginners will fare best if they train well beforehand and choose a longer route that allows them to acclimate at a slower pace.

Success rates vary on Kilimanjaro. Shorter, steeper climbs are harder and have lower success rates. Longer routes like Lemosho or the Northern Circuit, with experienced guides, can see up to 90% of climbers succeed.

How long do Kilimanjaro trekking tours typically take?

Most Kilimanjaro Trekking Tours last 6 to 9 days. Shorter routes are quicker but offer less time to adjust. Longer treks help to improve your acclimatisation and make it more likely that you will reach the summit.

When should I book a Kilimanjaro tour?

Aim to book the Kilimanjaro climb packages 3 to 6 months in advance. The best trekking seasons are January to March and June to October for the best weather and views

What training is required before climbing Mt Kilimanjaro?

Start your training at least 2–3 months before your trek and practise with all of your gear. Go on long walks and do plenty of cardio training and stair climbing.

Are Kilimanjaro trekking tours suitable for solo travellers?

Yes. Many solo travellers join our group Kilimanjaro trekking tours. Private climbs are also available if preferred.

What altitude sickness precautions do guided Kilimanjaro climb tours take?

Our guides monitor health daily using pulse oximeters and carry oxygen and first aid. The routes we take are designed for gradual altitude gain to help you acclimatise safely.
