Arrive at Londorossi Gate, where you’ll register and receive a briefing. Begin your hike through the lush rainforest, ascending gradually to Shira 1 Camp. Enjoy packed lunch on the trail and marvel at the changing landscapes. Settle into your camp, enjoy a hearty dinner, and overnight at Shira 1 Camp.

Start your day with breakfast and optional short hike to Shira 2 Camp for acclimatization. Descend back to Londorossi Gate, enjoying packed lunch on the trail.

While the hike to Shira Camp is manageable, it does involve moderate to strenuous activity, so a basic level of fitness is recommended.

Weather on Kilimanjaro can vary greatly, with temperatures ranging from hot and humid in the rainforest to cold and icy at higher elevations.

Restroom facilities are available at designated campsites and may also be available at some trailheads.
