The Great Migration is a popular time for a safari, but the calving season is particularly magical time to experience.  With the joy of new calves comes the excitement for hungry predators. This time of year offers you a chance to see the wonders of nature up close.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha

Pick up at the airport arrival into Kilimanjaro International Airport, meet and greet by our representative. Transfer to your hotel in Arusha.

Meals: Dinner

Day 2-3: Arusha - Tarangire National Park

After breakfast you will be picked up early in the morning from your hotel and, after a short briefing, you will head to Tarangire National Park. This journey will take about 2.5 hours and while on your way you will have to take in the beautiful landscape.

After check in at the park gate we will start our game drive, which will continue until late in the afternoon and includes a picnic lunch in the park. This vast park gets its name from the Tarangire River that winds its way through the parklands, attracting many diverse animals to its waters, giving you a chance to spot elephants, giraffe, lions, antelopes, and zebra.

After today's game drive you will head to Karatu (2 hours drive) and rest at the lodge.

Day 4-5: Ndutu

After an early breakfast, you will hop back into the car and head to your next destination; the Ndutu region.

This is another 3 hour journey, which will take you through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA). Here you may notice the landscape rapidly changing from rolling forests to flat grasslands as continue towards Ndutu. Once you reach Ndutu, your next game drive will start.

This park is nestled between the Ndutu Lake and Lake Masek, making it an ideal spot for many visitors. These waters attract huge numbers of wildebeest as well as six species of cats; leopard, lion, cheetah, caracal, serval, and wildcat.

A well-earned lunch awaits in the park, as usual, and you will roam the beautiful habitats of Ndutu until just before dusk. You will then head towards your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Day Trip to Serengeti - Return to Ndutu

Today is the day! Excitement will hang in the air today as you drive towards the most celebrated national park in the world…The Serengeti.

Here you will find one of the greatest concentration of game in Africa living in the shade of massive boulders of granite rising from the grass. At this time of year, the grasses will be teaming with new life. A full day of game driving will be broken up by a picnic lunch in the park.

When your eventful drive comes to an end, you will head back to Ndutu for dinner and overnight

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater - Full Day

Enjoy an early morning breakfast. After breakfast leave the lodge and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater.

The high rim creates a breathtaking environment and a dense population of migratory animals. It is one of the most densely populated African wildlife areas in the world, with some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino found here. The high rim provides a safe haven for wildlife, so you can expect a more relaxed atmosphere here and a dense population of migratory animals.

At 13:00 hrs you will have your picnic lunch stop at Hippo Pool in the crater and there after we press on for some more wildlife search.

We ascend to the crater rim and proceed to your accommodation for the night.

Day 8: Departure

It’s time to say goodbye to the wilds of Tanzania. Today, after breakfast, you will leave the national parks and head back to Arusha or you will be dropped off at the airport … for your next adventure.
