We believe that it is essential to experience both the natural wonders of Rwanda as well as experience its unique culture.
Here you will learn about traditional life in Rwanda from ex-poachers who have turned their backs on poaching and instead have chosen to engage in educating visitors.
Touch down in the beautiful city of Kigali.
On arrival, you will be met at the airport by one of our staff members and taken to your hotel. Our friendly staff will give you a tour briefing and answer any of your questions that you have about your trip.
You’ll start your day with breakfast at 8.30 am, after which you will be greeted by your local guide who will assist you with checking out before taking you on tour around the city. Kigali is one of the most exciting cities in East Africa! It won’t take you long to realize that it is a little more fast-paced than the slow-going vibe you will have experienced in other cities on the continent.
Your driver will take you to sites such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial and Inema arts center. Most notably the Memorial is a must-see for visitors to Kigali. This moving tribute to the tragic events of 1994 is a true testament to the strength of the Rwandan people and will teach you something of the global politics of today.
After your tour of the city, you will have lunch in town at around 12.30. You can expect a mixture of western cuisine heavily influenced by French culture as well as some local dishes.
At 2.30 pm, you will leave the city and drive to Musanze and Volcanoes National Park, where you will check-in at your lodge. Be sure to get to bed early because tomorrow is going to be an exciting day!
You will meet for breakfast bright and early before proceeding to the park headquarters for your Gorilla Trek briefing at 7.00 am.
Your gorilla adventure will start at the park entrance at 8.00 am. The journey to the gorillas in itself will be an experience to remember. The Volcanoes National Park is made up of unique bamboo and evergreen forests, which makes for a beautiful trek. The highlight will, of course, be the moments that you share with the gorillas while they feed, play, and relax amongst the trees. You may even be lucky enough to spot a mother with it’s young!
Of course, all good things must come to an end. After a few hours exploring nature, you will head back to your lodge for lunch and check out at around 2.00 pm – ready for your next experience!
