Embark on the scenic and historic Marangu Route, known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” for its relative comfort and hut accommodations. This is the only route with sleeping huts, making it ideal for climbers seeking a more comfortable experience. The trail offers a gradual ascent, helping with acclimatization as you trek through tropical forests, moorlands, and alpine deserts all the way to Uhuru Peak (5,895m). Itinerary for the Marangu Route

📅 2nd June – Arrival

Pick-up from Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Parkview Inn Hotel in Moshi (approx. 45min–1hr). Meet your guide and receive a briefing.

📅 3rd June

Day 1: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

Drive to Marangu Gate (1,843m), complete registration, and start your trek through tropical rainforest to Mandara Hut (2,723m).

🛖 Accommodation: Mandara Hut (Full Board)

📅 4th June

Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

Ascend through heathland and moorland to reach Horombo Hut (3,721m), with snack stops along the way.

🛖 Accommodation: Horombo Hut (Full Board)

📅 5th June

Day 3: Acclimatization Day at Horombo

Climb to Zebra Rock (3,980m) for acclimatization, then return to Horombo for rest and overnight.

📅 06th June

Day 4: Horombo to Kibo Hut

Ascend through alpine desert terrain to reach Kibo Hut (4,725m). Early dinner and rest before your summit attempt.

🌕 7th June

Day 5: Summit Day

Start your climb at midnight, reaching Gilman’s Point (5,681m), then Stella Point (5,756m), and finally Uhuru Peak (5,895m). Descend to Kibo for a short rest, then down to Horombo Hut.

Day 6: Return to Moshi

Descend to Mandara Hut, then to Marangu Gate. Enjoy lunch and transfer back to Parkview Inn Hotel.
